BROKEN CITY: DEVELOPMENTAL READING

12.02.16 @ Alchemical Theatre Laboratory

Set in a mystical and violent 16th century Prague, Broken City uses a percussive and eclectic score to tell the story of a young woman named Noa, who impersonates a legendary mud creature in an attempt to inspire her people to fight back against the oppression they've been facing. When things do not go as planned, she and her brother Daniel end up on opposite sides of a war and must choose between loyalty to their cause and loyalty to each other, until one is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice to fix their beloved city.

by Case watson

2.25.16 @ Ripley Grier Studios NYC

In the post-traumatic aftermath of the Calydonian boar hunt, Atalanta finds herself confronted by a new foe: matrimony. She vows to marry the first man to beat her in a footrace, believing she will outwit the system with her incomparable speed. When a friend uses his own wit to defeat her, though, she must accept her fate with grace and become a wife.

But what if this ending were a lie? What if she hadn't honored her agreement? What if, instead, she had panicked and fled?
